Feedback concerning our Forum

i am so confused. seriously by looking at the group of how many innova staff members work here, and how many post they made, makes me wanna lol.

mass moving and letting the redirection message in the main forum mess up the roganization you try to make because :
-each new post you put in old topics makes the going up in the forum, broking chronological order or posts.
-you let the redirection message in the main forum, wich have no time tag and makes the forum servers handle more charge. not to mention the security problem because of the items drastics multiplication.
-it's screw the readability of the forums.

 

archiving is a necessary part of keeping the forum clean and keeping an overview of sections, and the redirections do have an expiry so they are only temporary. the only reason you are noticing it in a bigger way for the next few days is because we are doing a big clean up of the sections to tackle the back log of very old threads. this is not something that happens on a daily basis therefore it is not a big deal for you to have a little patience and let the team do their work.

i'm not again the fact of archiving itself but about how you do it and the layout of the forum after this process.
there is automated tools for this that can be set in the administration panel of the forum that let you configure it finely, more than how you do it actually, more securelly and faster. actually, it put alot of useless post on the first page because you place a commentary (wich is useless because as stated by yourself you have warned everybody with a sticky) wich up all the post you archives and let the redirection link in the index forum, wich is annoying for a quick search.
not to mention that when you make a search on topic, with the searching tool, it double the answers wich slow the forum processes and every web admin should tell you that vbulletin is a well made forum for his easy maintenance. it's not a troll, it's common sens and knowledge of forum tools.
the way you're making it will orverload the server, makes sql error with the search engine wich will result in general sql failure and reduce the good feeling of forum use.
and again i'm not against the archiving but against the method you actually use.

as i have already mentioned, the redirects are only temporary and they are neccessary therefore that process will not change, as for the posting to close a thread...we have requirements and expectations that we must meet so we follow them. to be honest i feel you are only making a mountain out of something small and temporary, give it some days and things will be back to usual after the clean up.

i'd like forum with some stuff of lineage 2 lore itself. weapons, characters and etc, the same as innova twitter page is made of ^^

 

if you want to improve the forums, a big step would be to stop hiring illiterate and biased players just for the sake of moderating your forum for free, and start hiring intelligent and educated people who can form proper sentences in english, and are able to handle issues in a professional manner.

the low intellectual level of the mods/admins is giving the feeling that this is another half-assed private server, not a company operating an official game. the forums are the part of your company that serves like a "face" to the public. it's the side of the company that people see the most. when you have such a low quality representation, with mods locking threads at their own discretion while thinking that throwing a "regards" in the end of their post will make their gibberish sound more formal, don't expect to be taken seriously, and of course, with such a bad image, don't expect people to stay for long and empty their pockets to you.

no wonder why innova's lineage 2 service has such a bad reputation.
