well before i got appointed as mod i would type my messages without thinking much about it, after getting picked i have started to consider my words more as well as taking it more easy with the posts.

edit: so in a way being professional is not being quick but be accurate with you answers.

do not distort the meaning of my words, i never said that you guys are professionals - you are not - but some guy was talking about "professionalism" it self, so i replied, that's all.

professionalism comes with experience, experience comes with hard work. let's see in this trial time, how they will manage to become real moderators. it's two weeks.

dont think anyone joined this forum at the start thinking they were gonna be a mod, so really old posts from mods should not be brought up. they should be judged on how they do the job once made a mod.
if you want to troll, spam , flame, argue etc etc then you should not be a mod. mod is here to help enforce forum rules. if you cant do that impartially, then you should not have applied. i dont know what guides they give you for responding to player's posts, but seriously the " dear players and we " stuff comes over to me as condescending, patronising, sarcastic, rubbish .it's like some speech written for the queen of uk. i think they should sort that out. mod just needs to give straight, honest , 2 the point, impartial reason.

yes, volunteer mods are ofc players, but you make a choice to be a mod and to take on some responsibility and you cant behave like everyone else. if you take everything personally and feel the need to answer every single flame then simply do not volunteer for the job cos honestly mods will get flamed no matter good or bad .

i honestly cant say who will be good or bad, cos dont think that they had long enough to learn the job and to try do it. maybe in another week will get better idea of who is what.

i'm on sayha side.... this 2 week trial is nonsence. before mods will be reconsidered by staff, most of us will be warned dozen times or even banned for nothing. best example is sayha and mods "adventures"...

these "moderators" cannot ban from the boards, they can only forward the warnings to administrators..

and agreed, harlequin doesn't have a clue what spam, trolling means by definition, and is just waving his e-penis around. i'm certain he won't pass the trial period.

clearly not a helpful person irl.
should never have been given the position. and now the moderators are being all "it was before i was a mod, im now being professional" please, we don't want to hear them excuses.

there will be someone eventually, so lets sit tight until some attention comes our way, but it's up to us to make sure that "someone" is suitable for the position. ;)

for the time being i'll moderate lithuanian section.

even if you have the best hardware for the servers, when you face a problem that the hdd's failing in mirror raid0 and you need to save the data from them, you can be professional, but not quick for sure! this was only a little story about your concerns related for something that you clearly don't understand and btw. it happend to me not only once in my it career. so no, it doesn't include "being quick" always, it depends greatly on the circumstances.

    cheers

sorry for being offtopic but this topic is already a huge mess with a lot offtopic. move it to trash and start suspending those who cannot understand what is this topic for.
