    Probably not. Since robe +8 bonus give defense against bow and dagger.

    And light AP tree is kinda **** in knight branch if you want the additional pdef. Also, you get better mdef in robe and mages are strong in this chronicle. It is possible to play in light though it's certainly not the best option.
