The point i was trying to make (but failed, probably due to not enough cofee ) was that, what is pay to win to us (innova and ncwest) is probably fine for the koreans.
Adding a "lootbox" to the store with dragon claws and such is bs here, but does it make that much of a difference on their home servers?
They raised the limit on how much adena one char can hold, was it because of us or because their players have that much?

In the past, it was the grind that set up the pace of the game. You could progress as fast as your skills, effecience, time could allow. (you could do many things at the same time, farm exp, sp, materials, adena, etc)
Today, the store sets up the pace. And since different people have a different idea of whats acceptable to spend and how much time they have available, balance is a nightmare. (why? because there are players that "Muh endgame!!" and early/mid game isnt needed)

The reason why you see many games (this one included) that get sliced up to drive microtransactions is that players buy into that.
You're right, developers set the limits. But when players meet those limits, its THEM that drive the developers to push those limits further.

As much as i like to bash NCSoft for .. everything. Do people believe that they are stupid and do not understand this game is too old (aesthetics, gameplay, performance, media exposure, etc) that it doesnt make sense spending resources and time developing ways to atract new players?
If NCSoft wanted new players, they would have made a NEW Lineage 2 (instead of this GoD), with faster and better combat, better graphics, better performance, twitch friendly, good progression, etc.
They didnt. They went mobile, and as much as it hurts me saying this, it worked out for them. (at least for the time being )

Same goes for people constantly bashing INNOVA for not doing the events they want or for not marketing the game to get new players..
How much is INNOVA to blame for the lack of new players when the game itself is being developed for nostalgia glasses wearing vets?
I mean, does INNOVA even have a say when and what events to run? C'mon..

Casual players back in the days were crying that they cannot compete nor get the gear anywhere close to those who were hardcore grinding this. Now its the same, people who cant spend eur complain they cant compete against the ones who spend. Nothing new here. As someone said its a hardcore Korean style grinding game - deal with it and grind or spend money. Now its actually easier - since you can buy items for eur without grinding.

 

Agree, with a little correction.
Back in the day there were no casual players. You had factors and non factors/randoms
Casuals back then quit long before they ever got to the point of complaining. (they didnt even make into the players part)

For drop rates I personally blame botters.
Market is full of more friendly games .
To keep a new player u must have more friendly politics.

Nice u know a guy that spend 2 weeks of his life in front of Computer to "earn" Adena in worth of 75€ AMAZING ( and btw with 7 PA accounts he Even Paid 25€ Atleast for it )

Back in the Day when this game was still "good" u could Farm with one Constant Party 1-2 BIL PER DAY ( per Day i mean 3-5 hours at Chimeras or Tullys ) while a Bil was 75+ €
Thats why people complain, even if ur a Toilet cleaner or Taxi Driver ( hi Jik) its not worth to farm in game, better do one hour more at ur job and buy a bil or 2 lol

U guys doomed rly , he said that inposible earn money these days i said not and u still saying same he invested 25$ some adena and got profit , not all reaching any PROFIT? Even me in first years exping low chars 80-85 for 10kk per lvl , so yea any profit is profit ^^

And those chars still can be used in future for low instances

Im selled exp for ppl 10kk per lvl Ofc first u need invest smth to get profit , in which server playing with 1 char u can gear up and reach end game ? U rly that lazy ? Or u invest ur time or ur money , those 2 rules fits in any globla or privat server , but if u are lazy well..

 

Pple dont mind investing time as long as they see profit from it and find the joy from it ,simple as that.
Nowdays u can sell plvl only on endgame locations.
As for 80-85 atm u cant.
Farming tons of NERFED Zakens and Freya is the only way to get any profit at start.
But to do that u have to have a knowledge about game.
Some priv. servers have constant ~9k players (minus 1k boxes) and keep p2w at near 0.with new/old players joining everyday. Bcoz they know that they DONT need to fight vs deep wallet.
All is based on how much time ure willing to spend.

 

In my way u can gear up to farm mobs 4sure , but for true end game items u will need eurs no other way Innova pushing those 200-300 players pay theyr bills thats it, i doubt any in inovva team played l2 ever ^^ how they think newcomers can get 1thousand bills atleast to have bronches and the sayha talisman didint show up yet + new clock coming probably.. im also dont see much progress to stay here when u never will reach those ebuyers

In my friend list quited 33 ppls when this dragon guns event showed , now sayha will cut 10-20% ppls from server so in 2018 with this progress we will see 100-200 online server , ty all ^^

 

It's funny how people here talk about how you can farm your gear to compete on end game content w/o donating.

Its that ridiculus, that i will just show you how clueless u are if u think u can farm end game gear starting by 0.

Full brooch set for dd - 1 trill
Full rest endgame gear - 1 trill. ( agathions set shirts augments weap jewels accesorys talismans )

Lets say that a player start today and by magic he is able to farm on his first day 3 bills. Then tomorrow he farms another 3 bills and he keep like this. In the first month he would have 90 bills.
On his first year he would farm 1 trill just to buy broochs. On his second year he will farm the other trill to get the gear, and on next year he would be able to catch up the new items they introduced during the period.

36 months of work to catch up, farming 3 bills each day since the moment u start.

Now make the maths with real numbers, farming 1 bill day is already osom.

So will take just 6 years to catch up.

Old l2 were hardcore? Yup, but with effort in less than a year u were geared and ready to end game with ur majestic + draco + tate jewels.

Ye people are so lazy and so delusional that they don't farm coz they pref to cry.

Want crowed server? Make l2 store 1/3 end of discussion there is no other way.

Put the price of gear up a full toon instead of 10k euro to 3k euro and this server will be amazing, till then, there is no hope.

 

Its funny how when the game was considered hardcore (by some), most of that hardcoreness was down to time consuming activities. (farming mats, exp, sp, adena, recipes, soul crystals, etc)
Today, even if you could farm those 90 bills each month, you could see them go up in smoke because the sheer amount of RNG said "No!"
Back in the day, you could make plans to have your character make steady improvements. Today you can plan all you want and have all the farm you want (hell, even spend a bunch of cash) and have RNG not only deny those improvements, but actually set you back.

This, i fully agree with this , just one thing if 3 bil per day takes 3 years ( 36 months) then with 1 bil per day it would take him not 6 but 9 years xD
Anyway a game which cost u 10k euro just to play it as its meant to be is just a toy for rich people, as u wrote lower it to 2-3k € for top char equipment, then servers will be so full that we will have pvp even for lousy hellbound spots !

 

But they not even discusing to lower the prices atleast make them lik ru have.. 20% or more cheaper then us..

 

Stop feeding them and they will have no other choice than to make prices like RU.

Well just keep in mind you have 1 more solution: Join l2 Classic w/o this p2w **** and have a lot of fun with server which has few times higher online. Even if your char is not running with 500 / 1999 on all stats I believe at the end it matters if u have ppl around to play or not.
