    1. Introduction
"Fresh start from 0" for everyone who wants to enjoy the game.. without being #1 at olympiad or solo-ing group instances.
With (lots of) time (and friends) it's possible to do some group pvp.
It's how I started L2. Years behind in gear, no PA/ box account/ VISA. No irl friend who would give me free stuff/ exp.

    2. Class choice

ISS - can't do much solo (low dps) but... you ALWAYS have free buff. And despite lots of players having box iss'es, most open parties still need one (or 2). Be it to get full buff or instead of a healer / as a hot spare. Also active iss > box. Important for higher lvl instances or when party is weaker and can't tank mobs while box iss is lagging in background.
ISS provides buffs, debuffs and healing. Is keystone of every party. You can always start one and people will be more willing to join if they see an iss in party room.
    Suggestions:
Sword Muse: tanky, provides Song of Assault (same as BD's Crippling Dance) for pt
Hierophant: gives POM to 1 or 2 DD's (depending on your cooldown reduction)- very good buff

Tank - low/ no dps (except Death Knight - tank/ tyrr hybrid), not always needed but if the party doesn't have a tyrr to aggro, tank is a must. Higher lvl monsters are immune to snare so dd's need someone to crowd control mobs. Also the aura is good (DK doesn't have party aura), can give bonus dmg, defence, skill cooldown (buffs dmg output). You won't do anything solo, but there is place for a tank in almost every party. Can also make 3-ppl party for exp (iss, tank, aoe dd)

Heal - unnecessary at lower levels, but clan/ CP and high lvl parties will love you. Low lvl parties will prefer a dd or iss over healer, but if the party has self-buff/ coktails/ PA buff, you can skip the iss and have healer instead

DD - bad option (until you have gear and a box iss), yes, you will make lvls quick at start (solo or group), but once you graduate from the tutorial you lose newbie/ mentor buff and your tutorial weapon/ other gear is way too weak to do noticeable amount of damage. Exception to this could be a bit overpowered classes but they will still hit a wall without serious investments in gear a few levels further. DD+ box iss is a way to always be able to play solo, but since a lot of people are dd's (and have way better gear) securing party spot as DD (and not as a random leecher) could be an issue.
    3. Subclass

Make a subclass as soon as possible, the passives and added flexibility are worth it.
Pick something that will require as little gear change as possible and preferably make use of the tutorial gear. For example:

tank + iss sword muse: exactly the same gear
wynn+ healer: healer will do ok with light armor and 2h staff is good for both
tyrr duelist + iss: 2-handed swords, light armor.. perfect for both
tyrr maestro+ tank: 1h blunt, shield, heavy armor, good for both
eviscerator+ tyrr grand khavatari: exactly same gear
dagger/ yul/ tyrr: same armor, different weapon
    sayha+ feoh: exactly same gear

Reasoning behind this is simple, you won't have adena to buy gear for your subclass. Nor will there be any drops at low lvls. Getting gear is way slower than making levels. Once you have funds you can re-roll subclass during Red Libra event or at Talking Island (or start a new toon for fun)
    3.5 Subclass Dual Certification
    (subclass passives)

Similar story as with armor... preferably pick classes that will benefit from same passives since both main class and sub share them. It's possible to reset those skills in Aden for 20kk each time you change class, but 1) it's a hassle 2) it's 20kk adena
In general all those skills are beneficial, but it's better to have for example +9% p./m. def. on tank+ iss combo rather than on tank+ tyrr. Tyrr would do much better with +p.atk passive.

    4. Box

Having one is not necessary, but very beneficial:
    - can set up shop while your main does something else
    - can have 24/7 buff if you make an iss
    - if the box also has a subclass you can cover different roles depending on party composition, making it way easier to make a party and do stuff. Depends on classes/ spot of course. Dualboxing tank and healer somewhere where you would need to play both actively would be very hard or impossible.
    - 2x drop. Yes you have 2 toons to gear up, but for example ISS requires way less investment than a DD to be usable.

    5. Clan & Miscellaneous
    - Get a mentor, mentor buff is awesome since you don't need to go back to town every hour
    - Join a clan, clan passive skills are nice, there is a clan shop, and most importantly people who can help you. Members have priority over randoms, even with worse gear.
    - CP: like the game, got fixed work schedule and a good clan/ group of friends? Join or make a constant party... having a well oiled group (and voice communication) can make up for lacking lvl/ gear and a cp usually shares drop/ some gear, and does stuff faster, making it's members wealthier and stronger quicker.

WRONG info for class choice !!!
ISS - game is full of them atm (almost everyone have ISS box) and cant farm solo
TANK - ppl prefer to have DK or Tyrr in farming parties than a pure tank. Mostly need it for difficult party instances like Kroffin & Spirit Forrest, BUT need to be equipped, coz what is the point of him/her if die fast.
DK need investments to shine and DK items atm are the most expensive ones.
AEORE - needed only for party instances and must be equipped coz what is the point of him/her, if die from one hit.

    Yasn't.
DK without gear is worse tank than regular tank, tyrr also.. ISS can farm solo on green/ blue mobs xP And yes DD can farm with box iss or coktails but this is for budget play, not 24/7 potion play. Heal needs to survive 1 hit, if keeping distance+ good buddy tank, it's ok.
DD without gear.. you do 200 dmg instead 150.000. At this point an un-geared iss with POM is better for party dmg output. Or tank's aura (cooldown= more dps). Or even resist buff with +4% dmg enchant from healer.....

Soo according to you tank/iss/aeore will make faster adena/adena worth items than Wynn, Eviscerator, Tyrr Maestro or Othel ?... any DD class farm faster than ISS even with pom... and like i said ISS/TANK/AEORE are PARTY depended and i seriously doubt someone to take ungeared tank in good parties. About ISS like i said game is full of them and almost everyone have iss box.

And how you will get adena/adena worth items with TANK/ISS/AEORE ??? when almost everyone do the Session Zones (best place for adena/ adena worth items farming) solo or with iss box ???
