Hello everyone, I'm a new player nice to meet you all. I have played RO many years ago back somewhere around 2002 and I wanted to give the server a try. So much has changed. And I'm really struggling on what to do and it really just feels to me this server really doesn't want new players joining. So let me explain. I start out in the server, get a batch of potions and fly wings and novice items, which is great! I take the Merchant quest and upgrade my character, which results in me not being able to wear any of the novice gear I got so I'm basically butt naked from there. Without having any zeny at all to buy any stuff and 0 clue on what to do, I'm just continueing on without gear and it's just weird. I randomly run into the Eden group and I try to take things up from there. I'm currently at 0 potions, barely any fly wings. I managed to buy some items to make my life somewhat easier. But yeah, the rewards from the Eden Group did not give me any potions I guess from level 1 to 10. So now I'm doing a quest that's called "Conquer the Desert". I continuously die to the scorpions in a 1v1. There are random super strong monsters at all the noob gates (I guess via summons?) So I have to randomly fly wing out or I'm getting turbo chased down. I don't think I've ever seen a less welcoming start on a game that's what? 20 years old? Or am I missing something completely here? I hope this is taken as constructive feedback and not whining. Anyway, my patience is really running out already and the only thing that keeps me from going is nostalgia. I doubt any actual new player would have the patience to go trough all this, it's really messy. Eden Group is so important, it should be shoved in your face as a newcomer. Also, you just run out of items so fast unless you know what you're doing. Best regards, Reeve
It is much easier once you have a merchant gaining zeny for you. But yeah, I have had the same problem right at the start. Killing porrings near Pronterra helped me. Also, the daily rewards log in. I found the Eden Group by accident, and I wish I had found them way earlier. Ragnarok Online in the 2000's was all about finding things out for oneself via talking to NPCs or by the guild/ chat, etc. Some had printed guides which helped them a lot. Step by step, online forums came to be. I guess it depends on the player type, but I do think it is way too complicated for real new players who never played RO. If you need some starter items, write me. Most players are very friendly and will help you. If I see a newbie, I directly give them some red potions and some zenys.

I must say I've been helped out alot already by some in the community in order to finish up my Alchemy exam, I'm very grateful for all the help and your kind gesture.
